Our Advice: This is a beautiful ranch in the middle of the jungle. Fresh, wonderful waterfalls, lush jungle, and mountain streams – what more could you ask for?

Notes: As with everywhere in Puerto Vallarta, the amount of water in the waterfalls and pools will vary with the season – less in dry season, more in rainy season. Tour route is subject to change based on conditions.

We visited Rancho Capomo in August while we visited Nuevo Vallarta. We met Sergio at a designated spot than we drove to Rancho Capomo for about 45 Minutes. Once we got there we were fitted with a helmet and matched up with a horse. All the horses seem to be well taken care of and seem docile. We rode the horses to the waterfall which was very refreshing. To get to waterfall you leave the horses by the river than go up a trail than back down. It’s a little steep and it is a work out so if you are out of shape or have a hard time with stairs it can be difficult. After we got back we enjoyed the most delicious home made lunch with homemade tortillas. It was so much fun my two teenagers enjoyed themselves and had never ridden a horse before. I highly recommend Rancho Capomo for a fun horse back riding experience. They also have Atv and zip lining packets available.

So we got picked up by Mr Clean (our guide) @ the Splash Inn. I was immediately given the name “Big Foot” because, well… I’m 6’5″ and pretty darn big! Lol.

The trip started off with a fun drive- yes, our guide made driving streets, into the mountains on winding roads fun!!! We saw mexican eagles, “pumas” and more;)

Then we got to the ranch in Las Palmas and chaned into pants and were given lockers to store the gear we didn’t want to take on our horse back ride to the warer fall.

We were intoduced to our horses and taken into the jungle on a ride you cant get anywhere else. Thru rivers, trails, sand, jungle etc. Then a short hike tgru the jungle to a waterfall. My wife and I jumped right in and enjoyed the cool water big time!

We ride back to the ranch and then enjoyed some tequila, cervesa, we made Pico de gallo, made tortillas, had a fantastic asada and pollo lunch, and some more cervesa!;)

No rush, lots of fun, jokes, beauty, pics, wonderful food, very nice guides, and an experience only available in the Jalisco Jungle!!!

We got dropped back off near our.hotel.in Nuevo Vallarta ready for a nap and extremely happy:)

My wife and I went with her parents and it was our favorite tour we have been on. Sergio does a great job of really explaining the culture and the town as well as having a great sense of humor. It was about 45 mins from Riu Palace, but was a great scenic drive into the mountains. Once at the ranch, the staff could not have been more friendly. They go out of there way to make sure you have an unforgettable time. The views at the ranch are incredible, and the horseback riding is unreal. The scenery really can’t even be put into words- it is like something out of a movie- truly beautiful! After the ride, we came back to a great authentic Mexican lunch. I can’t say enough good things about this tour, and all the fabulous staff. Sergio is a terrific guy, and we will be calling him next time we come to visit- thank you so much for our best excursion yet!

Fun horseback ride into the jungle that leads you to a rickety old bridge that you have to have to hike to get to magnificent waterfalls. You can swim under the falls, then another 1 1/2 horseback ride back down where they show you how to make your own salsa at at work station followed ,by an amazing home made mexican meal of tortillas, rice, beans, chicken, pork and steak burritos , free flowing beer or margaritas. Great experience!
